We moved to Finca Son Jorbo from Birmingham, England in 2003 with 3 cats and now have a few more.
Annie is Head of Housekeeping, Executive Chef, Customer Relations Manager and Big Boss. Martin cleans the pool.
Annie used to work in interior design and Martin worked for the BBC. Neither of us had any experience of running a Bed and Breakfast and we have learned as we have gone along. Thanks to all our previous guests who have allowed us to practice on them! There is more about our change of lifestyle in this article.
In the UK we had a suburban garden. We now have 300 olive trees and 34000 sq m. We had no experience of olive farming either but having followed the instructions of our neighbour Miguel. Our last harvest yielded 650kg of olives and 110 litres of our own Finca Son Jorbo Olive Oil. You can read more about our olive production here
We don’t pretend to be a super smart 5 star hotel. You won’t find lots of anonymous staff here; it is just the 2 of us (plus a lot of help from Cati who assists with the cleaning). However we do try to create a relaxed homely atmosphere which our guests seem to like.
